Money Management Talk by Francis Kong
Last week, I attended a Money Management Talk by one of the most sought-after motivational speakers in Asia — Mr. Francis Kong. The talk was conducted in a prestigious hotel in Bonifacio Global City and was attended by over a hundred participants.
Here were the highlights of his talk (as how I understood them).
Money is central.
In a good-humored way, he said that “Someone who says that money is not important doesn’t have money.”
Money is the most talked about issue. The Bible has about 2.000 references on money and possessions.
Money is one of the most pressing issues that concern married couples.
Money is an idea.
Money represents a means of exchange.
Money is moral-neutral.
Money is neither good nor bad. What makes it good or bad depends on how you use it.
Francis Kong emphasized the importance of financial literacy and having the right perspective.
Disposable Income vs. Savings Income
Instead of describing your income as Disposable Income, Savings Income would be a better term so you would be encouraged to save a certain amount of money rather than spend everything.
He also emphasized the importance of saving and investing for the future by checking on the available savings, investments, and insurance options so that in the future,
rather than saying “I wish I had“,
you would say “I wish I did.”
My notes from the Money Management Talk were a far cry from the actual talk. Nevertheless, I wish this post is useful to you.
When you hear the word “money“, what comes to mind? Please share in the comments.
Have a happy weekend! 🙂

Hi Sha,
Thanks for sharing what you have learned on the seminar.
Money for me is an important part of our human lives that we couldn’t live without. One favorite quote about money for me is the classic one by Zig Ziglar ““Money is not everything, but it ranks right up there with oxygen.”

Nice, Dan! Thanks for sharing Zig Ziglar’s quote. 🙂

Those ideas are so true. I heard them from other great speakers too like Harve Ecker and Bob Proctor. Thank you for posting Sha.

I agree. Thanks for sharing Bernie 🙂

Money is a resource, and as with other resources, it should be used wisely or it could backfire and bring havoc in our lives.
Money defines a person’s character.
Sha Nacino
Indeed, money should be used wisely. Thanks for your insights, Nenita 🙂

Money is a tool to do greater things. I remember Bob Procter saying in his book that the problem we have is that most people are slaves of money rather than we humans being the master of money. So lets use this tool correct and not let it control over us that way we do greater things.
By the way when is Sir Francis Kong’s next talk. Been hearing and reading a lot of him even followed his Business Matters segment in an old radio station back there in the Philippines. Someday I will hear him live.
