One Simple Advice that Could Change Your Life Forever
I thank God because He surrounded me with great friends and mentors.
I have different groups of friends who share my interests in different fields — public speaking, writing, attending seminars, organizing seminars, speaking in seminars, doing charity work, doing ministry work, hanging out in coffee shops, watching movies, traveling, talking about our most precious concerns, nurturing our spirituality, playing badminton, and so on.
During Sundays, I meet a group of friends whose interest is talking about big dreams and plans. We love to talk about our big dreams after attending (and serving at) the Feast PICC.Β Years ago,Β two of them said they wanted to write their own books someday.

A few days ago, both of them have written and published their own books! Chris Dao-Anis published his book The Gift of the Ordinary while Divine Ayungo published her eBook How Savings Saved My Life.Β They both asked me to write the Foreword for their respective books. They said I inspired them to write their books. I couldn’t have been happier! π Two Sundays ago, our friend Mae said, “I also want to write my own book someday.” I know it’s just a matter of time and her words will become a reality. Meanwhile, we’re happy Mae is doing the illustrations for our books.
They say we get affected by our environment. If we hang out with happy people, we’ll become happier as well. If we hang out with emotionally mature people, they’ll influence us to become more emotionally mature as well. If we hang out with people who dream big, they’ll inspire us to dream big as well.
One of my friends is a genius. She studied (and taught) at Philippine Science High School and UP Diliman/U.P. Baguio. She holds two masters — one from U.P. Diliman and another from University of Cambridge. She’s one of the most brainy people I’ve met. Another friend is a great singer! She’s the best singer I’ve heard so far. Okay, I may be biased — she’s my friend and I’m tone deaf sometimes. π The point I’m trying to make is, I love hanging out with them because I want to be influenced by them.
As we end 2013 and welcome 2014, I have one simple advice for you. Choose your relationships wisely.
Choose friends who inspire you, empower you and nurture you. π
Do you have friends who sap your positive energy and drag you down? Pray for them but spend less time with them. Love them from a distance.
Do you have friends who inspire you to become better, wiser, wealthier? Spend more time with them.
Choose your relationships wisely. Surround yourselfΒ with positive people who inspire you to become better, wiser, wealthier.
