Nope, Lack of M.oney is NOT the Problem
How’s your day today? 🙂
My job title today and yesterday was: Delivery Girl.

I went from one National Book Store to another to personally deliver my latest book Money & Me: 9 Steps to Turn Around Your Finances and Live the Life You Want.
Tiring? You bet. Haha! It was a unique and beautiful experience. I felt like a Mom sending off her baby to the big school.
So far, the book Money & Me is now available in the following National Book Store Branches:
1. Ayala Center, Cebu
2. SM Cebu
3. Robinsons Forum (Mandaluyong)
4. Megamall
5. Shaw Blvd. (near Greenfield District)
6. Shangri La Mall Edsa
7. Cash & Carry Mall, Makati City
8. Greenbelt 1
9. Glorietta 1
10. Trinoma
11. SM North Edsa
Coming soon in other branches of National Book Store, Fully Booked, and Power Book s. Meanwhile, you may grab your copies at the National Book Store branches I mentioned. 🙂
While I was riding a cab yesterday, I was thinking to myself, “God, years ago, I was just dreaming to put my book in the shelves of National Book Store. Today, it’s happening. Thank you!”
The taxi driver turned off the radio and blurted out, “Ma’am, mukhang masayang-masaya kayo ah. Ayan oh, ngumingiti kayo!”
Funny, I didn’t even realize I was smiling by myself and that my smile was so wide it caught Manung taxi driver’s attention. Hehe!
To which I replied, “Opo Kuya. Masaya po talaga ako ngayon.”Â
Dreams Do Come True
As many of you know, I once had huge credit card debts that made me sleepless and worrisome.
I was once doing a job I wasn’t passionate about. The whole day, I would feel like a walking zombie and I would get so excited when it’s 5:30pm because it’s time to go home.
I couldn’t count the days when I would cry every Monday because it’s the start of the work week again.
I have experienced not having enough money for my fare going to work and not having enough money to buy the cheapest meal in Jollibee.
Today, I feel blessed to enjoy a certain level of time freedom. I have my tiny start-up businesses. Every day, God gives me the opportunity to do what I love to do! I am pursuing my passions full time.
Today, I could go on vacations any day of the week. Last weekend, I traveled to Cebu to give talks on Money Matters to our friends in Cebu. The organizers paid for my travel and accommodation expenses. I’ll blog about my Cebu experience soon!
I know I still have a long way to go and this is the reason why I keep investing in my financial education and personal development.
Important Money Lessons
I would like to share with you some of the messages I shared during my talk in Cebu.
Here goes.
Lack of money is not the problem.
Sometimes we would tell ourselves,
I lack funds. I’m poor because my salary is only this much. Â
Guess what? Lack of money is not the problem. You may earn a lot of money but you may still end up broke. You may earn only the minimum daily wage and you could retire a millionaire.
Let me expound by sharing with you the story of Gab and Bie.
Gab and Bie are friends. Gab is earning Php100,000 a month while Bie is earning Php20,000 a month. Who is RICHER?
After five years of working, Gab has negative net worth while Bie has more than Php300k in the stock market and in the bank.
What made the difference?
Increase in salary/income is not the solution, either.
Sometimes we would tell ourselves,
If only I could increase my salary…
or
I wish I get promoted so I would get a raise.
Guess what?! Increase in salary is not the solution. In fact, an increase in salary might put you in a deeper hole…if you don’t manage your finances well.
There are so many myths about money that we got accustomed to. After all, money was never really taught in school.
I believe that the ultimate solution to our money problems is financial education. This is something we could learn by reading financial management books, attending seminars, and talking to mentors.
Don’t be misled by the common notions and myths about money.
If you dream to pursue your real passions, you’ve got to invest in yourself — in your financial education.
If you dream that someday, you could afford to put up your own business and be your own boss, you need to immerse yourself in an environment of entrepreneurs. In other words, be with the people who are already where you want to go.
This is why I am excited about the June 7, 2014 seminar. Yes, I will be a speaker. At the same time, I am also very excited to learn from my co-speaker, my mentor Dr. Larry Gamboa.
I wish to see you there, too!
As of today, there are only a few seats left. You may still avail of the Early Bird Rate and save up to Php500 until May 23, Â 2014Â .
