
Take a Break. Bond with Your Friends.
My friends Jane, Ren, Trix and I are in Marco Polo Hotel, Ortigas. Agenda? We just wanted to catch up, watch a movie, and share stories.

It’s 8:38am, Thursday, as I’m writing this. I’m in the pool area with two of my friends. One is swimming (wish I were as sporty as her), the other is working (answering emails and text messages from her clients), and I’m also working (answering emails and writing some articles). Our fourth friend is still fast asleep in the room. For our friendship’s sake, I won’t disclose who’s who. 😀

Last night, we watched the movie That Thing Called Tadhana. It’s a feel good, and heartwarming Pinoy movie starring Angelica Panganiban and JM De Guzman. They’re acting was superb! I think the script writer was also brilliant. If you want to have a good laugh and be in touch with your emotions, you should watch it! 🙂

Go to a place where you could relax.

Wish I could say I have so much free time. The truth is, I don’t. But I knew I had to take some time off from my busy schedule to rest and bond with my friends.

My friends are very busy yuppies as well. Jane took a leave from work. Ren’s schedule is a bit flexible. Trixie and I are both entrepreneurs and so we just decided to take time off from our respective businesses.

Here are two benefits when you take a break and bond with your friends:

One, you gain perspective. You’ll realise that there are other things that matter in life aside from work. There’s also your relationship with God, yourself, and your loved ones. Your health. Your personal development.

Two, you’ll get refreshed. You allow your brain cells to rest for awhile. When you spend time with your good friends, you catch their positive energy, too!

I wish you could take time to rest, even for just a while. It could be 10 minutes on a given day, or one hour, or half day, or one day.
