How are you?

Hope you had a beautiful, fun, and productive looooong weekend!

On May 1, I attended Day 3 of the Toastmasters Philippines Convention 2017. It is an annual convention attended by Toastmasters all over the country.

By the way, if this is the first time you’ve heard of Toastmasters, it’s a public speaking organisation that exists in 142 countries all over the world. It aims to help its members develop their communication and leadership skills. I’ve been a member of Toastmasters since 2007 and it has really helped me become a better communicator and writer. Anyone can join Toastmasters! You can join Toastmasters

So here are the five things I liked about the Toastmasters Philippines Discon 2017.

1. Happy to be surrounded by passionate Toastmasters from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

.

.

2. Met the 2016 World Champion of Public Speaking Darren Tay. I also gave him a copy of  my book Mission Happiness

.

.

3. Had a very brief but meaningful interaction with the Toastmasters Regional Advisor Thannimalai Letchumanan. I learned that he also works for HSBC. (I used to work for HSBC). From my brief interaction with him, I sensed his sincerity and humility. Honored to give him a copy of my book Mission Happiness which he accepted with a smile and appreciation.

4. Witnessed the Toastmasters International Prepared Speaking championship, national level. Wow! They were very good! I was inspired to level up my speaking skills.

.

.

5. Fun, food for the brain, and friends.

.

.

Special thanks also to our Toastmasters District Director 2016-2017 Dulce Ranosa for her love, hard work, and dedication.

I was only able to attend Day 3 on May 1, labor day.

I missed Day 1 and Day 2 because I had to finish some work. I originally scheduled one day last week to read the manuscripts of the participants of the 90-Day Book Writing Challenge, but it took me 3 days to read and review their manuscript, and I’m not yet done. 😜

.

So proud of my Book Writing students! They write fast and well. I have to catch up reading their books.😍

.

.

What is that one thing you want to develop this year? Is it public speaking? Is it painting? Is it writing? Go for it!

.

.

I wish you success and happiness!
