When you’re feeling overwhelmed…
Happy Tuesday:)
Hope you are having a great day so far, Kim.
It’s a little past 1:00pm as I am writing this. I just had my lunch and just done with my power nap as well.
Yes! I nap everyday! 🙂
Right before lunch, I also interviewed via Zoom a global speaker and the former president of the Global Speakers Federation. It was a beautiful interview and I’ll share more about it real soon!
Are you overwhelmed sometimes?
Do you feel like there’s so much to do and so little time?
I can relate with you.
What do you do when you’re feeling overwhelmed?
Last Saturday night, I came home late from a wedding.
I was a bridesmaid and when I got home, I was so tired and sleepy (and very happy).
I didn’t even have the strength to write in my journal.
When I woke up the next day, I smiled and thanked God for another beautiful day.
Then I checked the time and it was already past 8:00am.That’s when reality hit me.
“Woah! My friends are coming over for lunch at 11:00am. Oh my God! I still need to clean the condo, mop the floor, and vacuum the carpets! And of course I need to cook lunch!”
I was really pressed for time considering that cleaning the house is my waterloo.
I was overwhelmed. There’s so much to do and there’s too little time.
I was tempted to get out of my bedroom as fast as I could and start working.
But I decided to sit down, pray, read my devotionals, write in my journal, meditate, and so on.
In other words, I did my morning routine.
After about 45 minutes, I went out of my bedroom, feeling refreshed and ready to work!
That’s when my brother March got out of his bedroom.
With a teasing grin, he said, “Sha! You just woke up?! I’m done cleaning the condo, mopping the floor, and vacuuming the carpets. I’m done swimming, too!”
Then he added, “I did all that while you were still sleeping. Oh, you didn’t even hear the sound of the vacuum cleaner!”
I looked around and indeed, our place was spotless. It was clean and orderly. Wow! What a pleasant surprise!
Thank God for my brother!
If my brother, as human as he is, can surprise me like that, how much more can God do?
Are you feeling overwhelmed right now?
Overwhelmed with problems, things to do, bills to pay, and so on?
Pause and remember to seek the help of the One who loves you the most.
He has your back all the time.
We may not know it but He is always working in the background.
He is working while we are sleeping.
Do the best you can and trust Him with the results.
So speaking of Sunday, I had two hours to prepare our lunch.
I am so happy my friends loved the sinigang I cooked for them.
We had a great time catching up over lunch, chocolate, ice cream, coffee, tea, conversations, and lots of laughters.
Here were some of our photos.
When you are feeling overwhelmed, remind yourself to see problems and difficulties as opportunities to trust Him and to love yourself.
Also, remember that all things will work out for your good.
Your problems and difficulties are not meant to put you down, they are meant to grow you up.
On a daily basis, find reasons to be grateful.
On a daily basis, ask yourself these questions,
“What did I find amusing and funny today?”
“What am I grateful for right at this moment?”
“How did God surprise me today?”
These questions will give you a happier, better perspective.
Have a great week ahead!
I wish you success and happiness!
Cheers,
Sha Nacino
