Something good will come out of this!

How are you?

I hope you and your family are doing okay amidst the corona virus crisis.

My message today is simple: Something good will come out of this.

I remember a funny incident last week. I had a new laptop, two sophisticated mics, and an intimidating recording software.

Here’s the photo I showed you last time. There’s a new addition to my set-up. I have a pop filter, too –the ones you see among professional singers.

Looks perfect, right?

Alas! I didn’t know how to use the recording software.

Not only that, my two mics didn’t work on my new laptop because apparently, I needed additional chord and splitter which I couldn’t buy or order at this time due to the quarantine or lockdown.

My blue yeti mic could work for my old laptop, but my old laptop crashed a few weeks ago — the reason why I bought a new one.

Funny, right? A bit frustrating, too.

Maybe that’s also how you feel about the crisis we are facing amidst the corona virus.

You want to go places.

You want to eat out.

You want to travel.

You want to go to the coffee shop.

You want to meet with friends.

You want to go to work.

You want to donate masks to the front liners but the masks ran out.

But you can’t do all of that because of the lock down.

For many of us, we are blessed because we can choose to stay at home.

Our front liners who work in hospitals, groceries, etc need a lot of prayers and support from us.

They are our real heroes these days.

In my short article this Monday, I’d like to share with you some ideas on how we can make the most out of this situation:

– If you’re a painter, continue to paint.

– If you’re a singer, continue to sing.

– If you’re a writer, keep writing.

– If you’re a speaker, continue to speak with a tweak. Find another medium to share your message.

– If you’re a coach or a financial advisor or counsellor, continue helping out your clients. There’s Zoom or Skype or viber or whatsapp or messenger.

– If you’re an entrepreneur, continue creating value. This time around, maybe you can be innovative.

Bored? Why? Hehe! Just kidding.

Create something new. Start something new, something productive. Something you can be proud of once the quarantine and the crisis are over. Something that could inspire others. Something that could make another person smile.

What I’m saying is, continue living. Do this for yourself, for your family, for the front liners, for the economy.

Make the most out of what you have.

Speaking of my recording studio, that’s for a new podcast I am launching called The Author’s Voice. Since I couldn’t use my sophisticated mic and recording software, I used my mini lapel mic and a really simply recording software. It worked. I’ll share my new podcast with you real soon! As of today, I have 9 interview schedule with international authors in the Philippines, Singapore, Canada, India, Australia, and the U.S. Really excited to share this with you REAL SOON!

Also, I checked my old laptop and found out that it’s out of space that’s why it crashed. I deleted a lot of files, a LOT of files. I also uploaded the important files on icloud. Now, my old laptop is working perfectly. I can now use my sophisticated, high-tech mic with my old laptop.

It’s the same thing with life. Sometimes we need to let go of stuff that no longer works, stuff that weigh us down… so we can function better.

What do you need to continue doing to continue living?

What will you let go of?

Also, whenever I experience pain or crisis or difficulty, there is one line I keep repeating to myself over and over again. I tell myself: Something good will come out of this.

I wish you love, joy, and peace today and everyday!

Cheers,

Sha Nacino

P.S. I’m reopening my online course The 90-Day Book Writing Challenge on March 26. Will keep you posted.

P.P.S. We will survive this corona virus. Let’s also continue praying for our medical front liners who go right into the battle field. A simple “Hi _____, how are you? I’m always praying for you. You’re in my thoughts. Take care.” will go a long way.

We’re all in this together. Let’s look after each other.

Something good will come out of this.
