Who is your coach/mentor?
Happy Wednesday!!
Hope you are smiling as you are reading this.
A few weeks ago, I was having dinner with my friend who is in her late 50s. In the middle of our conversation, she said,
“Sha, someday, I want to be like you.”
I almost choked. My friend is one generation older than me and she was saying she wanted to be like me someday.
I looked at her with a curious smile and asked,
“What do you mean?”
“Someday, I’d like to be a global speaker like you.” She replied.
I was amazed at her humility and candor. This also made me think…
We can learn from anyone — regardless of that person’s age, background, race, or status. We can be inspired by anyone.
My Special Weekly Date
Every week, I have a special date with this energetic wonder woman. Every week, she goes to our condo to swim and I love having her around. I clear my schedule for her because I love to spend time with her.
We call her Z. She’s my one-year old god daughter. She’s oozing with confidence, joy, and positive energy!
Just like my friend in her late 50s who also wanted to be a global speaker like me, I also wanted to be oozing with confidence, joy, and positive energy like Z. Haha 🙂
I love babies. I love children. I feel so grateful and happy whenever I see a baby or whenever I see children. Someday, in God’s perfect time, I pray that He will also bless me with my own children. Hehe! 🙂
Look at the people you spend time with. Do they bring out the best in you? Do they inspire you to be the best you can be? Do you do the same for them? Love yourself enough by making sure you spend time with people who bring out the best in you.
One of the things I am really grateful for is that God blessed me with great family and friends. I have so many real, lifetime friends who I can talk to about anything and everything. I also believe that my friends and I bring out the best in each other.
When I attended a global convention last year, I met new friends from other countries. Our friendship is so beautiful in such a way that many of them have told me, “Sha, when you visit our country, stay in our home. We’d love to host you.”
So far, some of my new friends have hosted me in their respective homes in Singapore, India, and the U.S.
Make time for your friends. Make new friends also. Be a good friend to them and really care for them. 🙂
Have a great week ahead!
I wish you love, joy, and peace today and always!

P.S. Speaking of confidence, do you need help in public speaking? I used to be so shy and introverted. I couldn’t even speak to my officemates. When someone would talk to me, I’d get so nervous. Ask me to speak in front and I’ll freeze… or I’ll cry.
Today, I love speaking in front of people. The bonus is that I get paid to speak. This has become my profession also.
P.P.S. Whether you want to be a paid professional speaker or you want to be promoted at work or you want to succeed in your business, it is so important to hone your speaking skills.
It took me 11 years to study and get training in public speaking. I learned what worked and what didn’t. I condensed my 11 years of training into an online course on public speaking called SPEAK TO INSPIRE.
I’ll open the registration on July 26. If you would like to be notified once it’s open, simply click here.
