She may be the mirror of my dream
A smile reflected in a stream ♫
A smile reflected in a stream ♫
The voice of the gentleman in white pants and pink polo filled the lobby of a five-star hotel here in Mactan, Cebu. His voice could very well soothe a tired soul as he sings classic love songs while playing the piano.
Across our table is a portrait of a family. A young boy — probably about a year old — sleeps on his fathers’s left hand while his father occasionally sips San Mig light using his right hand.
To our left is a group of Koreans chatting the night away.
Me? I’m with my friends from Toastmasters. We just concluded the 3-day conference. By this time, we were already very exhausted physically and mentally because the conference was so good you wouldn’t want to miss a single talk!
It’s almost 12 midnight. My friends and I just had dinner outside the hotel and we’re hanging out in the hotel lobby while enjoying our pineapple juice and cheesecake.
I smile as I savor the moment. What a beautiful, relaxing, and calm Sunday night!
Love me tender, love me sweet
All my dreams come true… ♫
There goes the voice of the gentleman again.
The wind gently blows, spreading the aroma of a freshly brewed coffee.
The chandelier, the ambiance, the world-class service… What a beautiful treat! I can’t help but say, Thank You God! Thank You!!!
I wish moments like this could last for days or even months! Deep inside, I know it’s short-lived. In the next two days, I’d be back to Manila. Back to work. Back to traffic. Back to stress.
I might as well enjoy this moment… I smiled as I let the calm music relax my tired body. 🙂
We don’t always get to get what we want. But hey, that makes life exciting! Stress at work, traffic, frustrations, pains, and problems are great wisdom givers. They help us keep our feet on the ground, push ourselves a little bit more till we reach our full potential, and most importantly, they help us appreciate the blessings and the little joys that life offers.
Life is good! Let’s enjoy the moment. 🙂
Did you see the sun shine today?
I did say I just attended a 3-day conference, right? Trust me when I say that this was one of the best and most insightful conferences I’ve attended — with world-class speakers coming all the way from the U.S., Middle East, and other parts of Asia. It’s so cool to be part of Toastmasters International! My big thanks goes to the leaders and organizers of the Toastmasters District 75 Conference 2013.
Of course! You’re in for a treat! I will find time to share with you my notes in my succeeding posts.
Have a wonderful week ahead! 🙂

P.S. After the conference, I approached one of the speakers, who is also an author. I gave him a copy of my book as my token of appreciation and gratitude for his beautiful and inspiring stories.
He was so grateful and touched by the gesture and he promised to send me copies of his books. Wow! How cool can that be? Yes, it’s a wonderful experience to be able to write a book and gift it to someone you look up to. Imagine doing that yourself. And yes! I can help you write your book.
