How are you doing, my friend?
It’s been a while since I last blogged. Quite busy these days. I’m cooking up some really exciting and worthwhile events for next year! Stay tuned! 🙂
I’m sending you a quick note to inform you about a FREE 2-day NLP training to support our Yolanda survivors. NLP stands for Neuro-linguistic Programming.
My friend Edwin Soriano of Train Station shared this with me. He thought this might also interest you.
Here are the details.
In light of Yolanda and the trauma, grief and devastation it has brought to our fellow Filipinos, we are hosting Michael Carroll, UK-based NLP expert of traumas & phobias, here in Manila this December 17-20, to help those who interact with Yolanda survivors to learn how to better manage their own state and emotions and help empower them to move forward from these difficult times.
The venue for December 17-18 is Room 1704-1705 17/F Jollibee Center, San Miguel Ave., Ortigas, Pasig City.
Venue for December 19-20 is TBA.
These FREE training sessions will be open to volunteers (health professionals, PNP, journalists, counselors, teachers, etc.) who want to help survivors of Yolanda, and are at risk of being traumatized themselves if they do not filter the trauma and use improper language or give improper advice that may further debilitate survivors. The workshop also aims to provide them with the needed reservoir of strength and resilience that they can share especially with survivors who are more traumatized and hampered from moving on.
So far, NLP has been used for Yolanda evacuees in Manila and Ormoc, and we have seen marked improvement after these sessions. With the help of NLP brain exercises and reprogramming, they have been recovering fast and most are already taking charge of moving forward.
Please spread the word to all those who you think may be interested!
I wish you success and happiness!
