Happy Love Month!
Happy Monday! How are you? January flew by so fast.Last month, so many things happened in Australia, the Philippines, China, the U.S. and the rest of the world. My two realizations last week were: First, “We get affected by our environment and what we focus on.” Last Thursday afternoon and Friday morning, I was so immersed in social media and in checking updates about the novel coronavirus. As a result, I got scared to even go out of the house. I did something crazy last Friday. I canceled all my appointments simply because I didn’t have a mask and alcohol! Since we get affected by our environment and what we…

Are you looking for love in the wrong places?
Happy Monday! Last weekend, I met someone. The moment I saw him, I fell in love with him. He had a beautiful smile and he looked charming even from afar. Then our eyes met. It was love at first sight. I felt the connection was instant and authentic. It was a magical moment. I smiled at him and he flashed back his biggest smile at me. On Saturday afternoon, I saw him sitting on the bench in the middle of a beautiful, lush forest garden. He smiled at me so I walked up to him and sat beside him. And that’s when we really bonded. Close open, close open. Pick…

How’s your love life?
Happy Thursday! 🙂 It’s January 10. Technically, one-third of the month has passed. Whew! How are your goals so far? I just came from a 3-day workation (work plus vacation) in Tagaytay. I love going on workations to review my goals and to work on a specific project. Do you do that, too? It’s fun! Try it 🙂 Jan 7-9, 2019 was my first workation for 2019. During the 3 days, I was in Tagaytay, I reviewed my professional and personal goals. For my professional goals, I calendared the timeline of all the online courses and online summits we will launch this year. I also strategized how to book more speaking engagements here and abroad. (Btw,…

Let’s Talk About Your Dreams
Happy Wednesday , Sometime in October 2013, I was deciding whether to buy myself a brand new 11” Macbook Air which I’ll use to write books or attend a 3-Day Super Conference in Shangrila Mactan, Cebu. That time, I just “retired” from my corporate job and I was also celebrating my birthday in a few days. It was a choice between a writing gadget and a learning opportunity. I chose the latter. I invested around P60,000 for the 3-day conference in Cebu. That didn’t include the airfare yet. Costly? You bet. Painful? Yes, definitely! Because I knew I invested P60,000 for a 3-day conference, I made sure every minute I spent in…

What will you focus on this 2019?
Happy Monday! 🙂 About a year ago, I was in Ortigas for our Toastmasters Officers semi-annual planning. My role was to share how I was going to conduct the team building activities that will happen in 3 weeks time. During the meeting, I was a bit distracted by what was in front of me. One box of kitkat! At that time, I was very hungry. I love chocolates but I was trying to reduce my chocolate intake! Woah! “Should I eat kitkat? Okay, just one. Should I eat one more? I’m still hungry? To eat or not to eat?” Those thoughts were playing in my mind. I was distracted. Have…

What are your limiting beliefs?
Two years ago, I’ve had my first ever dance recital. Okay, it was not just a recital. It was a dance concert held at Star Theater in Pasay City. It was not just a dance concert. It was a Douglas Nierras Dance Concert. What was so special about this dance concert? I was never a dancer. I remember when I was still an employee. I joined a dance class sponsored by our company. Day 1, I was able to follow the steps. Day 2, I couldn’t follow the steps anymore. So I stopped attending the dance classes. I had this mindset: I’m not a dancer. I can never dance. Every time I would be invited to…

A Christmas Gift for OFWs
I was in Dubai a few weeks ago and I met this young IT professional while riding a van from Abu Dhabi to Dubai. She was worried because her company closed down and now she has to look for another job before her visa expires. Just a few weeks prior to that, I was in Singapore to attend a conference. One Sunday, I decided to hang out in a park. There were so many Filipinos who were having a picnic. It was their day off. Then I noticed a Filipina in her 50’s who was sitting by herself. While everyone else was with a group of friends, she was there,…

Three Things I Discovered about Happiness that Awed Me
How are you? What does happiness mean to you? When I was much younger, happiness to me means achieving my goals, getting what I want, being treated well, etc. As I grow, I realized what real happiness means. Lately, I’ve experienced three setbacks that made me appreciate what real happiness is. Setback #1: When I got home a few nights ago, I found out that we had no electricity. Normally, I’d be tempted to get upset. Instead, I smiled and said,“Wow! This is going to be a unique experience. It’s camping night tonight. What an adventure.” Takeaway #1: Happiness is finding something amusing in a seemingly not-so-good situation. (Btw, our electricity was back…

Who among you wants to work from home?
Hi! March here. I’m the brother of Sha. 🙂 . I’m a Digital Marketing Specialist certified by the International Institute of Digital Marketing and a Digital Marketing Trainer under the Department of Information and Communications Technology.   “Who among you wants to work from home?”  One time, while speaking to an event, out of curiosity, I asked the audience this question.  I was quite surprised when almost all of them raised their hands!  Now, this is where it gets interesting.  After the event I got these feedback from the audience…  “5 years and 6 mos na rin ako dun sa work ko. Ayoko na…
